In April, the Musicological Society of FBiH and the Music Academy of the University of Sarajevo announced a call for papers for the 12th International Symposium “Music in Society.” Due to changes in organizational conditions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Administrative Board of the Musicological Society decided to hold this edition of the Symposium in an online conference format in a new term, December 10-12, 2020, and extended the call for papers until September 20, 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Call for Papers<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Musicological Society of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Music Academy of the University of Sarajevo announce a Call for Papers for the 12th International Symposium “Music in Society.” The symposium traditionally brings together musicologists, ethnomusicologists, theorists, music educators, and experts from related fields to explore pressing issues in music and musicology. The overarching theme “Music in Society” signifies an interest in gaining insights into the multidimensional, diversified, and transdisciplinary discourse of contemporary music science, providing a platform for the exchange of results from recent research.<\/p>\n

Languages of the symposium are Bosnian\/Croatian\/Serbian and English.
\nThe registration fee is \u20ac30 and includes the program booklet.
\nPeer-reviewed papers will be published in the Proceedings of the 12th International Symposium “Music in Society” in 2022 (English or B\/H\/S version), indexed in RILM and EBSCO databases.
\nApplications should be sent using the application form by September 20, 2020, to the email address symposium@muzikolosko-drustvo.ba. You can download the application form here in .doc and .pdf formats.<\/strong>
\nThe Program Committee will announce the final decision on selected papers by October 1, 2020, on the website of the Musicological Society of FBiH (www.muzikolosko-drustvo.ba). Information about the program will be published after this date.
