Kovač, Mirza (1986) was born in Sarajevo, where he finished High School of Music. He graduated in 2010 and received his master’s degree in 2011 in the class of prof. dr. Jasmine Talam. He won the Golden Badge of the University of Sarajevo as the most successful master student of the Academy of Music of the Univeristy in Sarajevo in the school year 2010/11 with a total average grade of 10. He won the award of the Fund Academician Edhem Chamo for Challenges of new forms of ethnomusicology research and fieldwork in transition countries: Examples from BiH. He is one of the founders of the ICTM National Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He completed a special training for experts of the Phonogramme archive Vienna related to the conservation and repair of endangered audio recordings. Kovač is part-time associate of the Municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo. He is also member of the Musicological Society of the Federation of the Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is currently a member of several interstate projects in the field of ethnomusicology and digitalization. Kovač is employed at the Music Academy of the Univeristy in Sarajevo as an Expert Associate in the library. He is married and father of two children.
